There's a body of ideas that can't really be separated out from each other. When you adopt the NRA's insane party line ("durr, guns equal freedom" , then you are choosing to promote a hundred other ugly, evil right-wing constructions of reality: that government oversight of anything is an overreach, that safety regulations on toys and food are a violation of freedom, and on and on.
I go off on gun lovers, but I really don't care much about the gun issue. The propaganda issue is HUGE for me. And there is no group that subsists on lies and propaganda half so much as today's gun lovers.

(3,419 posts)gun haters like you. You can't see past your nose because of your hatred. Millions of Democrats have guns so you should get a better attitude if you expect change on both sides of this issue. You are not just against the repukes you are against your own party if they don't agree with you. Good luck with that.

1) the Rambo Syndrome
2) the "my guns will defeat the tanks and drones and lasers of the evil gov't" syndrome
3) the "even though I live in Bumbuck, USA, it's DANGEROUS out there and I need help to work up courage to crawl out from the spiderhole under my bed" syndrome
