Please Don't Include The Gunman...

as a part of the "number killed." I realize that this is a trivial point...but it is a matter of principle, a matter of respect to the real victims of this tragedy. Just give the number of those who actually died at the hands of this bastard.

(Of course, I'm speaking of the media)

We are what we do, but what if he was abused badly - or incredibly mentally ill? If you beat a dog enough, it will bite you. I'd prefer to hear the real story about this guy. I'll wager he was just out of his cotton-pickin mind.

But I concluded...that just for this grieving period, we could not put the value of his life on the same level as those he killed. I'll probably agree with you more as time passes.
