Republicans Have Run Out of White Voters

GOP pollster Whit Ayres and the Hispanic Leadership Network's Jennifer Korn released a strategy memo saying that Republicans risk becoming a "regional party" if they don't increase support among Hispanic voters.

"Mitt Romney won a landslide among white voters, defeating Barack Obama by 59 to 39 percent. In the process he won every large segment of white voters, often by double-digit margins: white men, white women, white Catholics, white Protestants, white old people, white young people. Yet that was not enough to craft a national majority. Republicans have run out of persuadable white voters. For the fifth time in the past six presidential elections, Republicans lost the popular vote. Trying to win a national election by gaining a larger and larger share of a smaller and smaller portion of the electorate is a losing political proposition."

White blue collar types, white union people and old white seniors deserve their fate then. Romney and the GOP would have really screwed them.

middle-American white voters are, voting against their best interests. And I know plenty down here in southern GA. I just stopped arguing with them. There is no way to change their minds because of their bigotry, though none of them would ever admit to that.

Blue collar, Union guy, scraping by at the moment. Not the smartest guy in the world.
We aren't all "dumb middle-American white voters". Stereotyping is bullshit, whether it's done to people of color or "middle-American white voters". I ain't gonna take it.

I'm middle aged, I'm a staunch Union guy and guess what? I've voted for a grand total of zero republicans throughout my life. So here's one white voter they never had to begin with. And never will.

which is the whitest part of the country. Adding in the Southern voters did skew the white numbers a lot toward Romney.
