At first, I thought Walters would pick Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot on her school bus because she advocated for girls to be allowed to go to school; However, the more I think about it the less I think Walters will pick Yousafzai. Maybe Gabby Douglas, female gymnast, will get the top spot, but it seems that it has already been mentioned that she is on the list so she might not be at the spot.
There is a chance that Time Magazine will name the EU as person of the year because of its support of austerity measures. Maybe Angela Merkel, also for her support of austerity measures. It could also be the American voter or American people because of the election. Even though most of the effect will be felt in 2013 and beyond the effect can also be felt this year.
