John Obringer, Colorado Landlord, Threatens To Raise Rent For Tenants Who Voted For Obama



They say you shouldn't mix business and politics, but one landlord is doing just that.

John Obringer, landlord of Casa Adobe Apartments in Colorado Spring, Colo., issued a letter to his tenants on Nov. 27 threatening to raise rents for tenants who voted for President Barack Obama, KRDO reports.

The letter blames the Obama administration for a “continued assault on small business" that is "resulting in increased taxes, regulations and mandates.” Consequently, Obringer claims he'll have to resort to layoffs, pay cuts and shorter business hours to survive.

"If you voted 'Democrat' on Nov. 6, please notify me ASAP so I can raise your rent first to help pay for what you asked for," he concludes the letter.

....Good Luck getting anyone to step forward admitting they voted for the President in the recent election.

My hope is that all of your tenants who voted for the President find other places to live as soon as their leases run out, and that the negative publicity you get for being a flaming ass will cause your units to remain empty.

Just so you know, the President did not cause the financial situation in which we all find ourselves and has done his best despite extremely heavy resistance from the "Do Nothing" GOP in Congress. If you want to blame someone, blame President W who stood by and watched while the system imploded and did very little to stop the massive spreading damage.

Good luck again, Mr. Obringer...you remind us all of Scrooge. Hopefully one evening you too will be visited by ghosts who will set you on the correct path.

I would suggest (particularly to the owners of the properties which B&J manages) that management is perhaps not quite as on the ball as it should be, and perhaps they should try someone else who can manage, after 30 years, to sound like a business professional.
