Americans For Prosperity Fake an Attack On Their Tent at Michigan Right to Work Rally
Prepare to be confronted with yet another example of right wing deliberate deception. Today at the Right to Work protest in Michigan, an Americans for Prosperity tent came down with people inside of it. Naturally, Fox was there to capture the scene and AFP were quick to blame it on violent union supporters. Also, Breitbart had a video, naturally, blaming the tent falling on violent union supporters, with a video that doesnt start until well after the melee (of course).
But as you have learned, all is not what it seems in Right Wing world.
A protester of the anti-union law passed today, Tom Duckworth, saw a man hed spoken to earlier in the tent, wearing NRA garb, kick the tent poles from the inside of the tent. Duckworth thought they must be getting ready to leave, until he realized there were people inside the tent. So, basically, a person described by Duckworth as clearly a member of Americans for Propserty kicked the tent down and then AFP blamed it on the unions.

(45,274 posts)Goddamit, 3/4 of the adult population is walking around with video capability in their &^%# phones.
Get the GOODS on these assholes, people. You don't even risk wasting film anymore in this digital age. Start shooting stuff just on spec. You see something that looks funny, capture it. You see an AFP tent, just start recording it. We have the power!

(36,286 posts)of someone punching a Fox contributor. There are a lot of cuts, but it looks to me like the Fox guy tripped or pushed the union guy first.
Also - someone comes running out of the AFP tent brandishing a fire arm.....

(55,745 posts)As the Fox personality is shown as "victim" in a confrontation with a guy he evidently accused of doing something with the tent, clear as a bell, but quiet, part of the background sound, someone can be heard saying, "He's got a gun" and a second later "I've killed a lot of people who had guns."
Great reportage, IMO.

(11,147 posts)A big wind came along and knocked that tent down. Trust me, I was there.
Also, I saw the video on Hannity (had to watch because of the tent incident). When the video (that FOX showed) started, the union guy was LYING ON THE GROUND. He got up quickly and instantly went for the tea bag boy and punched him. It was NO 'sucker punch' as Hannity claimed. It was not a 'cold cock' as tea bag boy described it. I didn't see that incident in person, but the video CLEARLY showed the union guy getting up from lying on the ground and he instantly went after tea bag boy. It seem pretty obvious to me that tea bag boy had knocked the union guy to the ground somehow. Whether he pushed him, tripped him, or punched him is not clear but the union guy OBVIOUSLY thought that tea bag boy had put him on the ground. It's possible he mistook him for someone else, but I doubt it.

(36,286 posts)Since you were there, can you tell us just how anyone got permission to put up a tent on the Statehouse grounds?
Also - watch to the end of the tape - it's not "union thugs" who come boiling out of the tent waving shotguns (rifles?) around!
