I'm confused about President Obama...

Before you ask no I'm not a hater or troll I've been here a while but rarely post. I've been confused on whether I support Obama or not ever since I had found out about atrocities like ACTA and TPP. I mean I like the president personally and some of his policies such as the stimulus for example but his actions on civil liberties with things like ACTA/TPP enrage me. I'm so confused. Should I be happy with everything he does? Should I be constantly angry at him for above mentioned atrocities? Or should I just feel lukewarm about him? I really don't know. Maybe DU can help me out .

for medicare, the starting position is "medicare for all", not right wing framing like "everything is on the table"

he ran on letting bush tax cuts expire, which does not mean rewrite their terms a little bit and allow them to continue in modified form.

now to put as much pressure on him as I can to push him in the direction of humane and progressive policies. I figure we have a better chance of pushing the Dems in that direction than we do of pushing the Republicans.

And I know that he will be doing a lot of things that will piss me off in the next 4 years. But then every Democratic President in my lifetime has done that. Well, I dunno about FDR--I was born only a few months before he died, so I didn't have much time just then to form an opinion of him.

5. Many think it's easier to make a Democrat become progressive than it is a Repug.

Be glad Obama won and now's the time work begins for economic justice and the restoration of civil liberties.
