We're seeing the darker side of Citizens United.

When the Supreme decided that corporate interests and individuals can give unlimited amounts to candidates, many realized that the influx of special interest money would dirty politics and install right wing politicians, or at least corporate friendly candidates in a well financed run.

What wasn't mentioned then is what I believe we're seeing today. The mere implication of a well funded primary challenge against an elected state official is sufficient to get wealth generating legislation passed. I sincerely believe representatives of the Koch brothers contacted Gov Snyder with an offer he couldn't refuse, and it didn't cost them a dime.

Money does not even have to be spent anymore, just the threat that it's sitting there in the bank waiting... unless a super-pac or billionaire get their way.
