My opinion concerning Global Warming.

We are one of the largest ultimate end user of raw materials for our 'things,' be they toasters, cars, televisions, etc, etc. We've allowed our corporations to move the manufacturing of these 'toys,' if I may, to where there is no, or if any environmental laws they are very lax or not enforced. In the process the planets air and water is being polluted like there is no tomorrow and there won't be many tomorrows left if we don't do something and something fast. The first thing we can do is demand of the corporations to bring our manufacturing back to our shores where we do have laws concerning our environment.
For the most part it matters not where the CO2 comes from as the whole planet shares the same air.

I would. And fee and dividend (carbon tax in laymans terms).

In that vein I completely agree with you, but a lot of people wouldn't like it much.

I know, it sounds nuts, but it's totally true. We've already seen year on year output increases with oil using unconventional deposits and if it goes even half as well as fracking did for natural gas, well, we're on our way to an oil boon.

We aren't going to do anything about it until its effects are seen far and wide.

I've joined the ranks of a grand parent several years ago and it made me more aware of what we're doing now. I guess with the kids since they're only a couple decades younger it didn't hit me but with a grand child and her being 6 decades behind me makes me stop and rethink my stewardship of this planet. We can do better although I have no idea as to what or how. I do have some ideas, we've got solar, we've go wind and most of all we have geo thermal and geo thermal is where we should spend some time and effort in figuring out how best we can utilize that energy. Geo thermal can also be mined for some of our needed precious metals so it's kind of a twofer.
