LANSING — Union members plan to take part in civil disobedience training Saturday as they prepare for what’s expected to be a massive Capitol protest against right-to-work legislation on Tuesday, a spokesman for a workers’ coalition said today.

“Over the weekend, thousands of Michiganders are expected to take part in an unprecedented number of actions in key legislative districts,” Jon Hoadley, a spokesman for We are Michigan, said in a news release. “On Saturday, workers will participate in a training to understand their rights should they choose to participate in civil disobedience.”

The civil disobedience training is planned at UAW Local 600 in Dearborn on Saturday morning.

We are Michigan describes itself as a coalition of union and nonunion workers, faith-based groups and other progressive groups.

Thousands of workers will gather at the Lansing Center at 8am on Tuesday morning to march to the Michigan State Capitol Building.

This past Thursday, Republican legislators passed the worst anti-union legislation Michigan has ever seen. They will give it a final vote on Tuesday. To make matters worse, Governor Snyder has said he will sign a Right to Work-for-less bill if it gets to his desk.

WE NEED YOU to join us in Lansing on Tuesday to stand up for Michigan's working families.

The old-fashioned FU We Won attitude. Give them some back on the national level.

the second that law is signed. No cops, no firefighters, no teachers, no truck drives, no auto workers, not a single solitary union member should be working past the day that law is signed.
