The government spending that is destroying our economy is in the form of MILITARY, and support of foreign governments' military's. We could feed, house, and educate every poor man, woman, and child in the fucking country with what we spend on killing and destruction. STUPID FUCKERS!

inform them that the Republican President of those times (Dwight Eisenhower) set the upper tax bracket at 90%
and said that the RICH have a Patriotic Duty to help pay off the National Debt.
Capital Gains were taxed at a minimum of 25%.

Corporations paid their fair share too,
were Heavily Regulated,
and UNIONS were STRONG.
Government Spending was HUGE with immense Public Works Infrastructure Projects like building the Interstate Highway System.
Social Spending Programs like the GI Bill were sending MILLIONS to College and financing their homes.

THAT America built the largest, wealthiest, and most upwardly mobile Working Class the World had ever seen.
Small locally owned businesses ("entrepreneurs&quot THRIVED,
AND....some people STILL Got Very RICH.
THAT is HISTORY.

People have paid into Medicare and SS via payroll taxes all their lives.

here in the US. We do need a strong and flexible military.

But all too much of it is simply to protect the interests of corporations around the world. It simply helps them ship their products to the US to sell.

A portion of our military costs should be added to the cost of every imported item we buy -- and maybe even everything we export.

Free trade is expensive. You have to keep trade routes open.
