Please note that the original tweet about the HQ being on fire came straight from the official MB twitter. There were no other reports of that except to say a few chairs had been set on fire.

Right afterwards, State TV broadcast pictures of the HQ on fire showing lots of "smoke". The smoke was all the teargas they launched.

Imo, this is just to further incite their supporters to go after those who won't accept the Morsi/MB sharia rule.

CAIRO (AP) — Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi offered nothing concrete to defuse the country's worst political crisis in nearly two years in a nationally televised speech late Thursday, refusing to rescind a disputed constitution drafted by his allies or his decrees giving him near absolute powers.

A night after thousands of his supporters and opponents fought pitched battles outside his Cairo palace that left at least six dead and nearly 700 injured, he angrily accused some of the opposition protesters of serving remnants of the old regime. He vowed never to tolerate anyone working for the overthrow of his "legitimate" government.

Some among the thousands of opposition protesters gathered near his palace raised their shoes in contempt as they listened to him. Others broke into the iconic Arab Spring chant of "the people want to topple the regime."

He also refused to rescind his decrees of Nov.22 placing him above oversight of any kind, including by the courts, saying only that he was willing to annul one decree that gives him wide ranging powers to "protect" the nation and its revolution. From above, a mob sexual assault in Tahrir looks like a hurricane, picking up speed and engulfing women in a flash — their screams drowned out amid the roar of protesters' chants.

On the ground, the damage that's done in a matter of minutes drags on in slow motion — as familiar faces melt into the melee, leaving victims alone with grasping hands.

Many protesters in Tahrir suspect that mob assaults are carried out by men hired by the government, since both the timing and location of the attacks are usually the same. An upcoming UK Channel 4 Unreported World documentary (airing December 7) features interviews with men who claim to have been paid to attack female protesters. Whether or not this is true, many women have been scared away from the square.

The women emerge, "naked, bruised, and traumatized," as ambulance drivers and paramedics described the four sexually assaulted women they'd seen in Tahrir Square the previous week. While these uniformed men admit that "it's our duty to help everyone," they also provide an ever-so-thoughtful solution to lessen the burden on everyone: "Girls shouldn't be in this crowd with men."
