1. It's no problem at all to them, here's why:

Conservative chirstians are mostly protestant evangelicals. I was to learn that one of the pillars of their religion is that faith alone, not what you do, is what makes you a good person...err "good christian".

Upon moving to the bible belt years ago, I couldn't wrap my mind around the irony of so many overtly religious christians being some of the nastiest meanest SOB's I've ever met. I wondered how they squared those acts with their religion.
