What do you think of the Democrats trying to get Bob Inglis to run for that open senate seat

in South Carolina as a Democrat.

He ran for the Senate in 1998 and really wanted to be in the Senate.

I know he would be a Conservative Democrat but it would be another seat for the Democrats and a big improvement over Jim DeMint. At 53 he is young and could hold that seat for several years.

He was booted out of office by his own party and might be open to doing this.

He isn't known around the state and doesn't have name recognition.

Vince Sheheen, the man who ran against Haley, would be a good bet.

We're always going to have a Ben Nelson or Jim Manchin or Zell Miller in the US Senate that wears a democrat tag but crawls into bed with the GOP. And sometimes you have to do what it takes to win even if it means you'll have some folks going up against us on key issues.

But there will be 2 races in 2014 so sure, why not. Let him run against Graham and then have a progressive for the open seat.
