In Montreal, the Quebec women's federation will mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on violence against women with a ceremony at noon in front of the Montreal courthouse.
On Dec. 6, 1989, Marc Lepine entered the engineering school and killed 14 women, shot and injured ten more women, and shot four men before taking his own life. He left behind a note saying he blamed feminists for ruining his life.

Some activists, including the late Jack Layton, started up the White Ribbon Campaign, partly in response to the massacre

The Federal government passed a private member's bill which designates today as a National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Flags at all federal buildings fly at half-staff today, in memory of those killed in Montreal.

As soon as the prep's trial is over and/or the prep is dead his name should, also, end.
