Now in the Seattle Times people are asking what the hell the Liquor Control board is doing getting involved. LOL Proof another sucker supporter never bothered to read the actual LAW. I know the law..I know about the DUI provision...doubt very much if it would have passed otherwise. New Approach Washington did focus groups prior to putting forth the initiative to see what was needed to get voters to say yes.

I realize it's not perfect. I voted for I-502, we very simply weren't going to get everything all at once, but for the time being, this is a hell of a lot better than nothing..

The stores will be happening by approximately this time next year as long as the feds stay out of it..

If you buy wiskey from a different and bring it into Washington they don't have a problem with that...Same as pot, also they can't just draw blood at any ol' time.. This is about providing an alternative to pharmaceutical induced palliative care for individuals with chronic or terminal health care issues.

My uncle recently died from a rare for of T-cell lymphoma, an extremely painful terminal prognosis.

We encouraged him to self-medicate during his last few months, as the pharmaceuticals and clinical trials made him very ill; vomiting was a horrendous, hour-long conflict for him which left him physically wiped out.

He wouldn't try the marijuana treatment I offered to procure, because even after reading about it's advantages; was illegal in New York State.

But, go on and worry about it not being "cool" anymore... there are a lot of other illegal activities you can engage in to get your fixation of being cool.

my delight in legal recreational marijuana was tampered a bit because now it's controlled by "the man".

This post was about RECREATIONAL marijuana, not medical. I'm THRILLED to pieces that both medical and recreational marijuana is on it's way to being legal, mainstream, available to people who need it, and people who want it. But, until yesterday, I had never considered what it would look like and feel like to go hand open to the government for my pot because now they say it's OK. Just a personal revelation I was sharing.

I was just saying, somehow it's just not the same "fuck authority" action that it once was. Part of the "cool" of it was ABOUT buying, growing, smoking it anyway, because it does so much good for so many people for so many reasons, and that "the man" wasn't going to keep us from it.

I'll miss the subversive, free-love, hippie, counter-culture, anti-establishment side of it. I'm very happy things are moving in the direction of legalization, but I'm going to miss the counter-culture revolution that got us there. I'll be nostalgic for the joy of being in a park, at a concert, and smoking it openly and brazenly in SPITE of the cops being there, because there were so many of us smoking it they couldn't begin to arrest us all.
