Good to see the president interacting with the folks he said were so important to him in the election -- Good to see that he's using real-world concerns from real individuals to highlight the republican intransigence and the misanthropy of their political stances on the pending budget issues and initiatives.

That's what I still believe photo essays and pic threads provide -- something out of the box of the repetitiveness of the very essential advocacy and activism which is at the heart of what goes on here. I bow to your diligence and steadfastness to your causes. I do hope I can illuminate the discussions here with illustrative visuals and color, once in a while.

Can you say everything I did, truthfully? Because your response here is not entirely clear and leaves some room for interpretation.

I don't believe that most people consider themselves to be "political hacks," even and perhaps especially if they are working on behalf of causes that they care about. I never said that I consider anyone who works on behalf of a political cause to be a "hack"...merely that they should disclose what they are doing.

And I believe that many people who are working on behalf of political causes that they care about, also hold other jobs.

I have not accused you of anything. I am merely asking specific questions, because I think DU benefits from clarity when it comes to things like this. You will notice that I did not hesitate to answer the very same questions.

My question is: Can you say the following sentences, entirely truthfully?:

"Nobody pays me or employs me to post, nor is any of my posting, or the fact that I post here, connected in any way to any organization, group, or person other than myself."

Offending anyone here is not my purpose. Neither is pleasing anyone. However, I feel very strongly that all political advertising should be clearly labeled, especially on a board like DU.

It's soooo interesting that you completely ignored the substance of the tweets above. I'm sure the woman who responded to the president with her impression of the impact of the budget stances of the republicans got the meat of the president's response. If you follow the link the president provided you can view all of the questions and answers.

What you fail to understand is that your rap is not only stale and boring, it's off-putting and downright insulting to the folks you assume are less progressive or less concerned about the issues and initiatives you profess to represent. You want to be taken seriously? Try respecting the views and try assuming the sincerity of the folks you're speaking with.

It doesn't matter how helpful, true, and virtuous the information provided may be. It also doesn't matter how sincere a poster's political beliefs and convictions may be in conveying that information. I believe that people who work for political causes *usually* do so because they also care passionately about the cause.

My concern is about transparency and disclosure when that is the case.

Talk about an easy job! You just make up your own narrative and respond to it. Forget addressing the substance within the post. Forget the answers you've gotten to your brash and suggestive query. Just keep hammering away your imaginary points about some 'transparency' and 'disclosure' and then respond to it. What do you need DU or DUers for that anyway? You can do all that make-believe stuff without talking to anyone but your lonesome self.

I think it's funny/sad how you believe that your own opinions expressed on this board are some inviolable representation of some true progressiveness which gives you license to question the integrity of others here. If you weren't so pathetic in your reasoning, I'd be inclined to think you were just putting everyone on. I think a bit of listening to others here, without the filter of your arrogant, insulting view of your fellow DUers, might just help enlighten you in areas that you haven't personally explored.
