Christian radio host: Marriage equality encourages gay sex with ‘the very young’

Linda Harvey, a radio host and founder of a Christian organization that opposes LGBT rights, says that”homosexual marriage is wrong because homosexuality is wrong” and it promotes gay sex with “the very young.”

During her Monday “Mission America” radio broadcast on WRFD, Harvey struggled to understand last month’s marriage equality victories in Maine, Maryland and Washington.

“The homosexual lobby is skillful at manipulating public sympathy by tugging on heartstrings while not telling the whole story,” she explained. “Our side sometimes plays right into their hands by also not telling the whole story, even when we get the chance.”

“Until we deal with the core issue — the behavior of homosexuality — it was probably only a matter of time before our side would lose a few races,” Harvey opined. “Homosexual marriage is wrong because two men together or two women is intrinsically disordered, the behavior is unnatural. These aren’t activities that are beneficial or healthy. Homosexual marriage is wrong because homosexuality is wrong.”

The abuse/enticement of children is overwhelmingly a heterosexual problem. That is not to say there are not bi- or homosexual perpetrators that abuse children but it is the minority.

If homosexuality is "unnatural" and "wrong" why is it I saw it in the behavior of farm animals? Since they supposedly don't have the higher brain functioning and reasoning of humans then how could it have been a "choice" on their part as so many on the right claim it is a choice on my part.

And how exactly does she make the statement "These aren’t activities that are beneficial or healthy?" In what sense? Sure, you can point to AIDS as a health issue. But that would be a rather shallow argument considering all the STDs that have been around for thousands of years that heterosexuals have happily communicated to one another. There was a long time in history when having Gonorrhea was a death sentence likes AIDs was. You know, before antibiotics or retrovirus treatments.

Beneficial? It's not beneficial for two adults who love one another to partner? To do all the things heterosexuals do to benefit society? Like buy a house, raise children, pay taxes and thereby feed money into the economy?

People like Harvey are just warped by some religious or right wing dogma. I just wish they could stop channeling their efforts into hate and start channeling them into helping "the least of these (Matthew 25:45)" instead. How much more wonderful would the world be if they did?
