You think the right-wing propagandist companies would find a new job after the election. But they've found a new anti-Obama rant.
I got an advertisement this morning saying that tinfoil hat-wearers need to be very afraid today because Obama is working to overturn the Constitution and run for a third term.
Like I said, I shit you not.

(25,699 posts)Which is a bit of a different thing from "seek a third term"
Even their batshit crazy people know our guy would at least aim for an election. Our moonbats had no such confidence in their guy

(22,336 posts)There was lots of concern that he would either seek another term or, more likely, declare a national emergency and postpone the election.

(9,463 posts)But this was indeed a narrative in Democratic circles between 2006 and 2008. So, I agree, it happens on both sides.

(70,542 posts)Baltimore-based businessman Porter Stansberry is at it again.
The man who in the past has been found guilty of swindling customers with fabricated investment information is now trying to cash in on some of the public's dislike of President Barack Obama.
In an E-mail solicitation blasted across the Internet including on Monday over a listserv previously devoted to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign Stansberry warns that Obama is secretly planning to seek a third term.
"Most people believe the election was all about whether or not Obama will have a second term. But it was not," says the E-mail. "What was actually at stake was whether or not he will have a third-term."

(2,596 posts)They are baiting the whackjobs out there into doing something. They know full well how this kind of conflated fabrication acts on people with guns and grudges or just the deranged with a god complex. Every kind of shit like the Stansberrys, Trumps, et al need to get a visit from Secret Service agents with copies of their IRS files - all of 'em - in their hands.

(4,116 posts)And Obama would operate as a shadow government.
I heard that at our local Senior Center, an even more right-wing environment than our already fundamentalist, conservative county in south central New Mexico.
I thought, well, Michelle would be a better president than any Republican, except maybe Jon Huntsman (the one good R I recognize).

(4,788 posts)which is a fascinating book about how former president interact with the current resident of the White House. They even have a formal club house in Washington, one of the very nice town houses close to the White House. Anyway, the book mentioned that Clinton liked being president so much that he did a fair amount of detailed research into how he might accomplish it and came up short. What these idiots don't understand is that not only is President Obama a constitutional law scholar, he reveres the Constitution and wouldn't do something like that. Not that they'll ever twig to that.

(12,287 posts)we wouldn't have to dump the Constitution, just the 22nd amendment. There is nothing about term limits in the original Constitution.

If you do, please explain how Congress or anyone else will counter the NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/NSPD 51
HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/HSPD-20 when invoked by Bush.
Please spare me the following responses:
1. "he wouldn't dare". We all know he would and will.
2. Oh you are just negative.
3. Congress will impeach him.
Tell me how this Congress, that wouldn't even insist on timetables in the war funding bill, will deal with directive 51?[font style="font-size:0.7692em;"]
