Appeals court: Report described by lawyer as 'salacious' to remain sealed for now

A Daytona Beach appeals court ruled Friday that a "salacious" four-page police report that's part of the Jim Greer criminal case should remain a secret, at least for now.

Its contents are a mystery, but Delmar Johnson, the former executive director of the Florida GOP, testified under oath several months ago about seeing a golf cart of women he presumed to be prostitutes at a 2008 fundraiser in the Bahamas that featured major party donors.

Johnson is the state's star witness in the Greer case, which accuses him of stealing from and defrauding the state party out of $125,000 while serving as chairman.

The decision is a victory for at least two people, the unnamed clients of Orlando attorney Richard Hornsby, who had described the report as "salacious," defamatory, irrelevant and harassing.
