All those repubicans you see having changes of heart on so many issues . . . . . ?

Fuckem.

They haven't changed one fucking iota. They are the very same people they were before the election. They are posturing and preening to save their seats, not to save the country. They want to raise taxes like a bank robber wants to go to prison. They want to open immigration and establish channels to legal status like a football player wants a broken leg. Et cetera.

They are completely unchanged, even as they say things that agree with our positions.

That is all.

Unfortunately:

You know all those Democrats you've seen throughout recent decades, posturing about the need for "bipartisanship" on "deficits," "entitlements" or "national security"? *

Uh oh!

* all of these terms require quotes and unpacking, though not in this post.

This is all about saving their seats. They are stuck in a corner, they will have to give in but the crazy TP base don't want it.

I don't think it matters that they are the same as they've always been. We need their votes when we can get them, not a permanent alliance.

They blink in befuddled puzzlement that women have reacted to their misogyny and that Blacks and Latinos aren't taken in by their racist policies.

can see their careers going down the drain if they don't change their lies a little bit. Their whole careers are based on lies and those lies justify their end game. They don't believe in anything they purport too. They do believe in staying in power for whatever rewards will come down the line. I hope it's a nice long prison sentence for many of them in Club Fed.

There are a few out there trying to bring the party back to sanity, but they are greatly outnumbered.

We need a better republican party. Right now we have a democratic party always drifting right to fill the void and one party of ignorant zealots. That's not good. A better republican party would lead to a better democratic party.

And I think that there should be some way to inhibit those who buy politicians from stuffing cash into the mouths of those who try to engage in rational thought and speech.

For now, what we have instead are zealots who will go to the end of the world to get their way even if it means they have to parrot what their opponents say (as we saw with mittens during the first presidential debate) and giving lip services so that they can get close enough the jam the knife in your back followed by slitting your throat.

Those people don't change. They like to sound "kinder and gentler" but I don't think anybody will buy it. This country wouldn't be in the shape its in if it weren't for them. PO didn't make this mess, and the majority of the people have spoken on the issue. Everyone needs to remember that if their lips are moving, they're lying. That's a fact!

But not an increase in rates and only if Obama reduces "entitlements" and maybe they'll consider chopping up the tax deductions utlized by the middle class, like the home deduction. Yeah, no change. Same leopards.

Lindsey Graham is typical. While he makes a show of saying he will defy Norquist, what he proposes is that he will vote to eliminate some deductions if Democrats will take the blame for slashing Social Security and Medicare. You would not know it from the way it is reported by the fawning corporate media, but he re-iterated he would not agree to any raise in marginal tax rates.

So essentially Graham is saying he will agree to screw the middle class in taxes, if Democrats will screw the middle class out of SS and MC, and if Democrats will take the blame, and if the historically low tax rates on the 1% stay in place.

That's no change of heart.
