(60,212 posts)1. Calling something verbal rape demeans what people who have been actually raped go through
I was seriously sexually harassed, and I wouldn't begin to compare it.
That being said, Chris Brown is a shithead.

but I was 16 at the time.

I believe that if she actually knew what emotional weight and pain the word carries, and I don't really know if she doesn't, she would probably have used a different word altogether.
I have never experienced the word, but I know two people who have and it is not a word that they like to bring up.
I have been recovering from a cold that my daughter gave to me, and before that I was taking care of her so I am a little hazy on the subject at hand.
What is with all of the posts on the subject lately?

(16,113 posts)8. Hey, the second person from "The View" to define a new kind of "rape".
Perhaps they should have someone come on the show to clarify what rape actually is.
Having said that, it happens all the time on the DU as well (just look for "virtual rape" , though people are rarely called out on it.

But Liz is typical RW eye candy.
