London (CNN) -- The last time I sat down to interview Julian Assange more than a year ago, he walked out on me, angered by questions about the allegations of sexual assault in Sweden.
This time, holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, he had nowhere to go when asked the same question.
Assange has taken refuge in the embassy for five months now, refusing to submit to questioning in Sweden over those allegations. He denies doing anything wrong, and says the allegations are a ruse to get him to Sweden, which would then, he claims, extradite him to the United States.
"Look ... there's an attempt to extradite me without charge, without evidence allegedly for questioning."

(84,711 posts)different views on this. Since you are a Canadian...I'd like to hear your views on this issue.

(5,580 posts)So its not exactly third world military junta type suppression of rights. Not sure if you think US civil rights should apply to an australian in the ecudorian embassy in the UK being extradited to sweden.

(84,711 posts)And what is your beef with him?
You only do :rofl" replies and never say why YOU as a Canadian have such an interest in trashing Julian Assange who NEVER did the Catholic Thing with the Saints?
You are really kind of interesting in that you stalk me...with nothing and never ever give any reasoning as to why you do this...
I think it must be the new "BOTS" that are being experimented with..

(84,711 posts)or are you a very young kid who just doesn't know about that stuff?
What is it with you and Assange?
randome
(34,845 posts)I don't have anything 'with' him, as you'd know if you'd read some of the many threads about him.
I think he's a narcissist. He let Bradley Manning twist in the wind. He promised to 'unleash the bank documents' if world governments wouldn't leave him alone.
He has done Wikileaks a great disservice and it now lies in tatters.
KoKo
(84,711 posts)You have posted many thread about him as his "Kid Sister?"
This is really not comprehensible. Could you post further information to verify that you are not on meds or just having something that needs to be addressed further?

(84,711 posts)Twist in the Wind and you lied about the "Kid Sister" thing?
Why should I believe anything you post?
If you Support Bradley Manning and think Julian Assange left him out there to "twist in the wind" then SPEAK UP and FESS UP to where you are coming from instead of hiding behind lies about your "Kid sister."
Sheesh...Fess Up!

Both of these bozos are responsible for the dissolution of Wikileaks.

Who knew?
Or, perhaps, you could blame the guys who put a whistleblower in prison and are trying him.
Just a thought.

(34,845 posts)...without examining them. We can argue all day over whether the documents made any difference or needed to see the light of day but there is no definition of 'whistleblowing' that encapsulates handing documents over to a foreign national in the hopes of exposing wrongdoing.
Yes, he WAS aware that some contained what he considered wrongdoing but there are whistleblowing channels he could have turned to. And that doesn't excuse handing over all the other documents that he had no way of knowing what they contained.

Seriously.

(5,580 posts)And it was between two countries so it was all officialnand everything. We had an invasion then a tasknforce travelling across the world then air battles and naval confrontations and thenna ground assault and even an official surrender. I think it pretty much qualifies as a war and the UK definetly classes it as such when it comes to benefits.
On edit i dont think the uknhas declared war since the forties and i still dont believe there is a peace treaty between the uk and argentina.
KoKo
(84,711 posts)I hope you will do more reading to educate yourself.
Hey...I was young once, too..and in Grade School...I was still seeking. So, I hope you will do further reading like history books from your local library at your age and then when you've had some real book knowledge under your belt you can just use GOOGLE or BING or Search Engine of Choice to refresh your memory with article links.
But, I'd suggest starting at your local library for lists of books about WAR...and go way back ...in your experience...definitely.

(5,580 posts)Im still interested to hear if you dont think the falklands war wasnt a victory or the six day war. It seems to me that you arenmore into trying to hide behind just being ignorant rather than anything else. And as a vet i know a little about war from the front.

(84,711 posts)I'd like to know what information you base your opinion on. Like some thoughts from your brain...some background as to your thinking that you've reached this conclusion from your background, experience in life ...that you've come to this conclusion.
You realize you are on a Website that has many thoughtful people who are educated and have life experience and so you are not going to get away with (on here the DU) with some kind of Yahoo Message Board Comment without leaving yourself vulnerable.
Have you thought about this? What DO YOU THINK?
Waiting to hear your reasoning since this is a DISCUSSION BOARD...not a site for YAHOO BOYS/GALS.

(84,711 posts)your views in a more "literate" way...don't you?
So far I've not seen a literate or even some kind of garbled dialog from you that any rational thinker could find a way to engage you in dialogue that would lead to a productive discussion.
Can you do better to explain your viewpoint?

(3,333 posts)as a whiny, narcissistic stupid ass, don't you?
He's a piece of shit idiolized by people who cannot think, IMO.
I'll be glad when Ecuador tires of his idiocy and allows him to be extradited and tried and convicted. Then we won't have to listen to his whiny, narcissistic stupid ass crap any more.
