"Assange: How notoriety has changed a trapped man"

Assange: How notoriety has changed a trapped manBy Atika Shubert, CNN
updated 12:25 PM EDT, Mon October 29, 2012

http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/26/world/europe/wikileaks-assange-color/index.html

London (CNN) -- The last time I sat down to interview Julian Assange more than a year ago, he walked out on me, angered by questions about the allegations of sexual assault in Sweden.

This time, holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, he had nowhere to go when asked the same question.

Assange has taken refuge in the embassy for five months now, refusing to submit to questioning in Sweden over those allegations. He denies doing anything wrong, and says the allegations are a ruse to get him to Sweden, which would then, he claims, extradite him to the United States.

"Look ... there's an attempt to extradite me without charge, without evidence allegedly for questioning."

I don't have anything 'with' him, as you'd know if you'd read some of the many threads about him.

I think he's a narcissist. He let Bradley Manning twist in the wind. He promised to 'unleash the bank documents' if world governments wouldn't leave him alone.

He has done Wikileaks a great disservice and it now lies in tatters.

Both of these bozos are responsible for the dissolution of Wikileaks.

...without examining them. We can argue all day over whether the documents made any difference or needed to see the light of day but there is no definition of 'whistleblowing' that encapsulates handing documents over to a foreign national in the hopes of exposing wrongdoing.

Yes, he WAS aware that some contained what he considered wrongdoing but there are whistleblowing channels he could have turned to. And that doesn't excuse handing over all the other documents that he had no way of knowing what they contained.

And it was between two countries so it was all officialnand everything. We had an invasion then a tasknforce travelling across the world then air battles and naval confrontations and thenna ground assault and even an official surrender. I think it pretty much qualifies as a war and the UK definetly classes it as such when it comes to benefits.

On edit i dont think the uknhas declared war since the forties and i still dont believe there is a peace treaty between the uk and argentina.

I hope you will do more reading to educate yourself.

Hey...I was young once, too..and in Grade School...I was still seeking. So, I hope you will do further reading like history books from your local library at your age and then when you've had some real book knowledge under your belt you can just use GOOGLE or BING or Search Engine of Choice to refresh your memory with article links.

But, I'd suggest starting at your local library for lists of books about WAR...and go way back ...in your experience...definitely.

I'd like to know what information you base your opinion on. Like some thoughts from your brain...some background as to your thinking that you've reached this conclusion from your background, experience in life ...that you've come to this conclusion.

You realize you are on a Website that has many thoughtful people who are educated and have life experience and so you are not going to get away with (on here the DU) with some kind of Yahoo Message Board Comment without leaving yourself vulnerable.

Have you thought about this? What DO YOU THINK?

Waiting to hear your reasoning since this is a DISCUSSION BOARD...not a site for YAHOO BOYS/GALS.
