They're pretty darn noisy. Not too bad if you have alot of land and can put them "over there". But if you literally had to live "under" one, it'd probably bug the hell out of you and damage your hearing. Not that anyone would really install one on that little land. Truth is, as good as the land based ones are, the ones off the coast are where the real power is.

Unfortunately where we live there is little daily wind and our electricity rates are so low it would take about 20 years to repay itself. It will take about 15 years to recoup our investment in the solar equipment we had installed..

I'd still would love to have one...
