I think there is no way Trump would pay people off for stories that could not be proven.

Bullshit stories run in tabloids all the time. No way Trump would pay someone off unless they could prove the story. It's not like Trump didn't play up the image that he was a lady's man. It would only be a problem if something like that could be proven...

When there is a massive imbalance of power, consent becomes a pretty hazy issue. If the woman involved felt her job was on the line, coersion is a very real issue.

It's just where the money came from.

Sure, it may lead to another "hush money" trial, but right now I just want this one to be over and see that piece of excrement behind bars.

and that that's his defense for allegedly falsify his business records.

I would think that if it could be shown he willingly and knowingly made other payoffs, it undermines his defense that he would never knowingly do such a thing. Which then throws into doubt his contention that he didn't falsify his records, which is what the prosecution is charging.

But you're probably right.
