Trump's team argued that his posts about Cohen were not violations of the gag order because Cohen was saying mean things.

The judge said something along the lines of "I don't recall the exception in the order because someone is saying mean things."

I'm no sure why you're so certain that the judge is somehow compelled to let Trump respond to anybody's statements. As someone else in this thread pointed out, he's the defendant. That means he's the one who is under control of the court.

If he's allowed off the leash to play tit-for-tat with Daniels, the purpose of the gag order is defeated. If he can call down the wrath of his followers on any witness, it will affect all other witnesses.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I know of no public figure on the Democratic side or anybody that could be considered a liberal or has spoken badly of their orange god or anybody the likes stormy Daniels or Michael Cohen f.i. that has been physically attacked by any of his supporters other than poor Mr Pelosi.

I think this fear of Trump’s bully bio’s and the actual danger posed by them is overblown. Besides, are we totally defenseless? We can’t be cowed or we let them win. Their attacks are mostly verbal and I wish there was a task force of some kind (hint Justice Dept) that would track these cowards down and make a serious example of a few. That might just put the damper on future threats that are mostly just noise that none of them will act on anyway.
