Another American is learning other countries don't share our liberal gun laws

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/us-tourist-faces-12-years-prison-bringing-ammunition-turks-caicos-rcna149108

An Oklahoma man faces up to 12 years in prison on a Caribbean island after customs officials found ammunition in his luggage.

Ryan Watson traveled to Turks and Caicos with his wife, Valerie, to celebrate his 40th birthday on April 7. They went with two friends who also turned 40.

The vacation came to an abrupt end when airport staff found a Ziploc containing bullets in the couple's carry-on luggage. Watson said it was hunting ammunition he had accidentally brought with him — but a strict law in Turks and Caicos may still see a court imposing a mandatory 12-year sentence.

"They were hunting ammunition rounds that I use for whitetail deer," Watson told NBC Boston in an interview conducted last week that aired after their first court appearance Tuesday.

More at the link. Right wingers are starting to flood social media with this story due to their outrage over a gundamentalist being held responsible for his ignorance.

If he was someone from another country who brought ammo illegally into the US, he would similarly be arrested and labeled a terrorist. He did the crime so he can do the time. He’s as innocent as a drunk driver .

It's funny when some good old boy tries to get into Canada with a handgun because he has a concealed carry permit in Texas. The border people remind him that Canada is a different country, with different laws than the United States. Surprise!

I believe it’s against their TOS to raise money for people accused of criminal activity.

a deer on these small islands leaves a lot to the imagination. The only deer I know on small islands would be the deer on Key West, a miniature breed of deer, and they are endangered.
