Grenell is a longtime spinmeister who under President Trump became a controversial (first ever expelled) ambassador to 🇩🇪 Germany. (The influential Der Spiegel magazine described him as “politically isolated” after he was accused of interfering in domestic politics.)

His engagements have included work for Moldovan oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, known for his Kremlin connections and attempts to destabilize Moldova’s pro-Western government. Trump's ambassador to Germany who arrived and announced he would be there to support far right wing causes--in Germany! The one country in Europe with laws on the books expressly forbidding anything even hinting of support for National Socialist propaganda or causes. He's lucky he arrived with diplomatic immunity, or he could have been arrested, held in jail and subsequently deported the moment he got off the plane.
