We live on the gifts of the Trinity of Geosphere, Hydrosphere, and Atmosphere; all powered by the sun's energy freely given to all.

Yesterday in Paris, it was almost 20°C (68°F). By the evening, when I was suppposed to go up to Sprout City, 80 minutes by Eurostar express, it was half that, and trains were being delayed due to gale force winds just north of Paris. I made it to Belgium with only half an hour delay, but two hours by train to the northeast, in Düsseldorf, where I live, my wife said trees were being blown down, and everyone was freezing. Today, in Sprout City, it was cold again, and by the time I got back to Germany in the afternoon, it was pouring with a threat of snow in the higher elevations.

I have to be in Langley by tomorrow evening, and my brother said the Washington area was over 80°F. It was barely that in Dallas! I will be going down to Dallas briefly before a meeting in the midwest next week, and then on back over here by May 5. I don't know whether to bring an overcoat or a T-shirt.

Second nature to me at this point!

And the travels--they were supposed to slow down at the end of April. No way. Not this year, anyway. Before I leave for vacation at the end of June, I have stuff to do in the usual places (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland). They asked me to do a couple of four day trips in early June, one to Dallas, and the other to Tokyo. I said, get someone else! If I'm lucky, I'll be called to run down to Spain again, and maybe I can hide in Barcelona for a couple of days.

There is no rest for the weary........

I’m at the Düsseldorf airport, waiting for the commuter flight down to Paris (going on to Washington from there), and we had to scrape the ice off the car before my wife could drive me to the airport.

I go down to Spain all the time, but we haven’t been back to Croatia since 2017. Our daughters had given us a long weekend in Dubrovnik for our 65th birthday (some daughters, eh?). I can’t believe that was already seven years ago.

Although it’s close by, we haven’t been down to Italy for 20 years. There are only so many days in a year…..

Think. Again.
