I saw a Tesla Cybertruck in the wild today

First: Yes, they are just as ugly in real life as they are in photos.

What the pictures of this vehicle don't really reflect is how big they are. If you've ever seen an H1 Hummer or an Army Humvee...well, they're about the same size, in both length and width. The one I saw was taking a right turn off Lakeside Drive onto Second Street in Coeur d'Alene, ID. (I give you this location so you can look it up on a map and see how tight this is.) The driver must have gotten it really recently and not been familiar with how wide it is, because he or she ran over the curb making the turn - which is something pretty much every new Humvee driver does at least a few times. I'm suspecting you'll soon hear about all the parked cars these sideswipe, which is another common thing new Humvee drivers do.

Fun trivia: Norman Schwarzkopf was the commander of 24th Infantry Division when the Humvee was first issued. Stormin' Norman got so pissed off with how many of his new trucks had the front-right corner of the hood knocked off by hitting things with these trucks he emptied his commander's imprest funds account to buy brush guards for every Humvee in the division. The Army realized he had a good idea and retrofitted all these trucks with brush guards.

This morning, I was driving on the busy interstate (410). I see a cybertruck. However, all of a sudden a group of bikers comes charging out of nowhere and was weaving in and out of traffic. Then, there are sirens, I get in the right lane. The sirens were cops on motorcycles escorting some of sort of VIPs (The VIPs had government issue vehicles. I tried to get a look at their plates, but they were whisked on through) All this chaos caused me to miss my exit!

I found the cypertruck a bit "tank like" ugh......

You're going to have to bring the truck to your Tesla dealer to have it fixed. And...who the hell knows how long that's going to take, because they need to make parts to do the repair.

Here's the weird thing.

I found out what the issue really is. The Cybertruck's accelerator pedal is in two pieces. There's what looks like a stainless steel pedal that's hooked to all the electronics that control how fast your truck is going, and then an aluminum plate that slides over the top of it to make it pretty. Above the pedal is this massive plastic cover under the dashboard that keeps the driver from seeing all the ugly shit behind the dashboard of any car like ducts and wiring harnesses. Well...some idiot decided to design this pedal in the shape of a triangle with the top clipped off. Because the pedal cover plate isn't screwed to or glued to the fixed pedal, when you stomp on the "gas" like...well, you would because it's a Tesla and that's why people buy those cars...the cover plate can slide off the fixed pedal and lodge itself between the plastic cover and the floor of the car. The sick part is, by installing a one-piece cast-aluminum pedal in the car this would have never happened.

Silver is usually a very safe color to buy because it always looks clean no matter what, but not with the Tesla.
