'Is the Republican Argument Against Women Voting Getting New Traction?' Thom Hartmann

https://hartmannreport.com/p/is-the-republican-argument-against-cf9

'The Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina this year, Trump-endorsed Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, knows how to fix America’s political and social problems: prevent women from voting...“I absolutely want to go back to the America where women couldn’t vote,” Robinson argued. “Do you know why? Because in those days, we had people who fought for real social change, and they were called Republicans. … That’s the America we want to bring back. We want to bring back the America where Republicans and principles and true ideas of freedom rule.”...

The calls to disenfranchise women have been growing among Republicans in recent years. Just a few months ago, Ann Coulter was blunt: “Once again, it is time to reconsider our rash experiment with women's suffrage.”

Michigan Republican John Gibbs, it was revealed when he ran for Congress in 2022 as the official GOP candidate for that state’s 3rd congressional district, was ahead of the curve. The former Trump administration official had created a website two decades ago that laid out the conservative argument against women voting:

My words: Speaking as a woman, the GOP has once again poked the sleeping tiger. See you at the polls.

They will find a way to neuter the 13th and 19th amendments and first allow states to decide which groups have the right to vote, and then allow a national ban.

They have all but allowed nullification cases to be brought. That is a path to achieving this.

Women make up over 50% of the electorate.

Yes! There will be women voting Republican this year because they are hearing vitriol against African-Americans, POC, Immigrants, Jews, others who do not adhere to Christian tenets, ban abortion Nationwide, ban Birth Control, to even banning women from voting.

I do pity women who are planning to vote Republican. Some here where I live who are on Medicare and get Social Security. One woman told me she is voting for Trump because he will ban all abortions, deport the Hispanics, arrest those who oppose him in the Government. All I could do was shake my head and tell her. "I guess that is what FOX News is telling you what to think and say."

Economic & reproductive freedom have given us power over our own lives. The feminist pages on FB are full of men whining how women are asking & demanding more from men & life, something their grandmothers & women of the past never demanded. Like the opportunity to live a full life is only for men, which is of course what they believe because men are so superior to women even as our entire species stands on an ecological brink brought on by the policies of men.

We are not going back.

on edit: Here's an interesting DU thread with an article about how young women are becoming more liberal & young men are becoming more conservative.
