2. I'm less bothered by the reduction than I am by yet another deadline being pushed back, this time by 10 days.

This opens the door for what may be yet another delay when these 10 days are up next week.

When a fuss is raised about bail, it is routinely reduced or postponed.

The Republican nominee for president in 2024, and it’s probably 50/50 as to whether he’ll be reelected. That puts him in a different category of people altogether. And $175 million isn’t pocket change. And if he loses on appeal he’ll still owe the entire judgment amount.

Chance of winning. In a nation where we are constantly told we are all equal under the law, there should be no special classes of people. He wins again and that is bullshit, no matter how much you pretty it up.

15. Every poll out there suggests he is several critical states

And he lost last time by something less than 100k votes. So I’d say his chances are 50/50 to win reelection. Hope I’m wrong but I’m a realist.

Reducing an appeal bond doesn’t appear to be that uncommon, and regardless of how much we dislike it Trump is one of like six living people who are current or former presidents and therefore in a completely different category. This isn’t because he’s white or rich or Republican it’s because he is a former president and current candidate for president. Nobody would care if this had happened to some random person in New York.
