You get a good 3D view of the Lemon-Musk interview and the troubling issues about hate, free speech, and censorship involved in this discussion. But the most interesting thing to me, as someone with limited time and unlimited curiosity, about the three interviews is that you see the different virtues of the streaming news shows.
Pakman's interview of Lemon was the most straightforward. I liked how he explains how the business end of streaming works. You definitely get a sense of how Musk is hands on running Xitter. You got a sense of who Lemon is and how he did a real public service.
Cohen's interview is billed as a "Clash" but that's just BTC's more feisty style of marketing his channel. Brian gets more of a blow by blow from Lemon and you get more of a 360 of the particular issues exposed by Elon's attitude and tantrum response. It was enlightening to see Lemon put under pressure. Brian should be a prosecutor.
Cenk and Ana are fun to watch, but they're kind of doing a Hoda and Kathie Lee show. Cenk always brings out the emotional and ethical ends of the issues he gets into, which also ends up making it more philosophical.

(54,013 posts)Here's how Musk is striking back at Don Lemon for exposing his thin-skinned ego. (I don't know who Jack Davis is or what the "Western Journal" is supposed to be, but I know who's able to buy them off -- they're clearly swallowing Musk's PR team's shallow 'attack Lemon' orders). Note: the line below about "ended contract talks" is clearly trying to imply that Lemon blew the deal up, but it still feels like Musk pulled out of the agreement out of pique.
Don Lemon Made Outrageous Demands to Host Show on X Before Elon Musk Ended Talks: Report
by Jack Davis, Western Journal - March 18, 2024
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon reportedly had a list of demands that would make a diva jealous as he tried to negotiate with Elon Musk to host a show on X, but Musk the social media sites billionaire owner ended the contract talks after a recent interview with Lemon.
Lemon insisted on a Tesla Cybertruck, $5 million up front, a salary of $8 million, an equity stake in X, and approval rights over X policy changes impacting news content, according to the New York Post.
Lemon also wanted X to toss in a private plane trip to Las Vegas, a suite for his fiancé and himself, and an X-paid day of drinking and massages, the Post wrote, citing an unidentified source with knowledge of the situation.
Who knows how much of this was legit. Lemon's a businessman and the perks he was trying to negotiate are interesting, but hardly germane to whether Musk could stomach a few tough but fair questions in an open interview. It sure seems like Musk was under the impression that he was buying Lemon off.

(25,471 posts)Western Journal used to be Western Journalism.
It's a hyper-partisan, fringe, far-right-wing, conspiracy theorist, propaganda organization. Nothing they publish should be taken as fact. Ever.
It was started by the guy behind the Willie Horton ad and Citizens United.
