Exactly! These christo-fascists are convinced they have the moral high ground when their entire anti-woman and anti-choice agenda is anything but moral.

the founding fathers not being big fans of religion in general and Christianity in particular. The religious extremists believe that their twisted dreams can be mixed with reality and they "adapt" History to fit with their beliefs and fairy-tales dating back to the bronze age.

One of the problems is that these religious fanatics have forgotten their own history (or just plain reject it).
The revivalist New Light Baptists of 1780 in Virginia petitioned the state government (governor: T Jefferson)
to dis-establish the Anglican church as the official religion of the state - they were paying fines, were threatened
with other sanctions and discrimination, for not attending Anglican or Episcopalian services. 250 years later
they want to impose their own system on everybody else. Of course this new lot has different roots and different
teachings than those 18th century fundamentalists - it's unlikely they consider anything outside the revelations
of their new prophets as worth consideration.

Imagine not wanting the government to infringe on your freedoms as a Christian while simultaneously working to have the government infringe on the freedoms of others in the name of Christianity, all while refusing to see this as a contradiction.
