1. "People can't change their gender."

Which is one of the reasons why trans people change their outward appearance: to match their gender identity. Raichik was an accidental ally there for a second, but she’s not smart enough to realize it.

Maybe she should direct her efforts about truthfulness towards the political party she's part of. They seem to have issues with the truth.

of people believing they are intelligent when they only know talking points. All they can do is repeat the talking point. This is also an example of stellar interviewing.

4. She was appointed to the state library board in Oklahoma.....

Chaya Raichik is a virulent anti-LGBTQ bigot and stochastic terrorist who delights in using her "LibsOfTikTok" account to publicly target LGBTQ community events, LGBTQ teachers, and medical centers that offer gender-affirming care so that her rabid right-wing followers can inundate her victims with death threats, harassment, and hate speech.

... the Oklahoma State Department of Education, run by fellow bigot and radical right-winger State Superintendent Ryan Walters, made the astonishing decision to appoint Raichik to the state library board despite Raichik not being a) a librarian b) an educator c) a parent or d) a resident of Oklahoma.

7. Like, how is putting these opinions in the Washington Post a "takedown"?

In a podcast interview this week about the violence that follows her posts, Raichik smiled and said she’s proud of being called a stochastic terrorist — someone who inspires supporters to commit violence by demonizing a person or group.

“Honestly, like, that makes me feel really important,” Raichik said.

On Thursday, in an hour-long interview with a Washington Post reporter at a coffee shop in Los Angeles, Raichik said that “bomb threats are bad” and that she believes “people who call in bomb threats should be arrested.” But she said: “I just don’t know — what does it have to do with me?”

Raichik called Benedict’s death “very tragic” and “horrible” but said she believes nonbinary people should not be allowed to receive certain gender-affirming care.

8. It exposes her lies to anyone who might think her views are reasonable
Sat Feb 24, 2024, 05:28 PM

One of the more eye-opening things is that she claims to have never met any LGBTQ individual in-person before starting her campaign against them. Her entire world view is based upon videos spoon-fed to her through social media network algorithms. She watches some videos by LGBTQ creators, the algorithm sees that those videos attract her attention, and shows her more and more of them. A little over 5% of Americans are LGBTQ and about 1.5% are trans but the algorithms overindex to her because they detect her interest in them.

This, of course, doesn't excuse her hatred. But it shows another way that social media can distort reality.

Then there are the basic questions about her views that she can't form answers to. The fact that she has been put in charge of anything related to education in Oklahoma really reflects poorly on that state's government and education system.

9. If someone thinks her views are reasonable, do you think they care if they are lies?

Yes, and? How is this a takedown that reduces her power instead of normalizing it?

10. It reduces her power by shattering some of the illusions the conservative media bubble created of her

Watch the video. She comes off as a total idiot who can't answer basic questions. Not to mention her embrace of the "great replacement theory" anti-Semetic trope. She's just... icky. Most people don't want to be aligned with icky.

Someone who isn't an extremely online person probably has never heard of her. If someone don't know her background, they might even believe her bogus claims of wanting to protect children. But her uncaring attitude toward the kids she's negatively affected and have been killed as a result of her hate campaign lays bare a very, very ugly personality. And an ugly personality doesn't make for a good messenger.

We can argue about "most" but people are generally happy to flock to "icky" if "icky" has power and can hurt the right people. Which is what is happening with Raichik.

Someone who isn't an extremely online person probably has never heard of her.
You don't have to be extremely online to hear of her. Even casual Twitter users will stumble upon her work because of the algorithm.

And an ugly personality doesn't make for a good messenger.
Again, it does for people who like the message. This is the same 2016 shit all over again.

12. I have no illusion that people who really like the message will change their minds

The Pope coming out and saying that same-sex couples could receive blessings certainly didn't change every Catholics' views on same-sex couples and he's the head of the religion. But people can be persuaded and they can change. And an ugly personality can be persuasive against the position -- people do question if they want to be associated with such a person's message. It isn't going to change every mind but it will change some.

6. The words of Jesus, Matthew 19:12

English Standard Version
For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”
Then, truth be told, Eve was a transgendered clone.
