(40,416 posts)Where the only grocers are:
a) Walmart
b) Meier's
Both of which are the same damned thing, and are right next door to one another. I am short on groceries, but Hell if I am going to town today. I think I'll go out to eat tonight in Hawkins, MI (pop. 64)

(15,090 posts)I like to shop at Giant Eagle because they're unionized and they're a real grocery, not one one of those giant mega discount stores that also sells groceries. If my only choices were two big box discount stores, I don't know what I'd do for food.

That's the only shopping I do on Black Friday. I do most of my Xmas shopping online or the first week in December. I hate crowds.

(22 posts)My granddaughter and I are gonna build a secret hideout in the woods. I figure that is one of the best Christmas gifts I could give her. I know it's the best she could give me. Peace to all.

(7,261 posts)Could you tell us more? I'm intrigued!
When I was a kid we would build "forts" in the woods. No I am not a "end-times person" haha. Just a fun place to hang out and tell your friends you have a secret place.

(7,261 posts)As a kid we had acres of woods behind our house and would spend every day back there, often making forts. What was really neat was that the area used to be a vineyard and there were old wooden logs all over the place. A lot of our forts looked like log cabins.
I loved the Secret Garden as a kid and after reading it wanted to have such a place of my own. Still do.
Also, don't overlook the trees. Many a fine hideout's been hidden in the canopies overhead.
Have fun!
