It seems that we cant even have fun in this country anymore. Fans gather for a celebration of their teams championship, a shooting happens. People go to a concert in Vegas, a shooting happens. People go to a nightclub in Orlando, yep, a shooting happens. Not to mention many schools, department stores and every other place getting shot up.
Around here, there are several businesses that have "no firearms allowed" signs on the entrance door. This fucking madness has to stop.
And i am not anti gun, but i am anti semi automatic guns. Weapons of war have no place in everyday life.

(43,578 posts)If you had to transport it to a firing range you placed it unloaded, with the ammo, in the trunk.
I don't know where we're headed. This is not going to get any better. Laws don't stop people anymore.

(46,379 posts)Is who is going to enforce these laws and how?
You want the ATF ransacking house to house and businesses looking for the "wrong" guns?
There is also the fact there are more guns in the US now than there are people.
I used to own a shotgun and pistol.
I sold off both, just didn't need or want them any more.
I still like target shooting, with my BIL.

(1,155 posts)My country has let me down. The way I always understood it was our government was supposed to be there to keep us all safe.
I always thought gun ownership was akin to free speech - it ends when you are yelling fire in a crowded room. So, you cannot yell fire in a crowded place or actually fire (a gun) in a crowded space.
Both of those things are causing the US to be a lesser place than what it used to be.
When my husband passes - I hope it will not be soon, but he does have cancer, I will move to Canada. The violence down here is one reason. There are others, such as my husband getting cancer hit home about how one health crisis can bankrupt you and leave you homeless.
I am lucky I have dual citizenship. I will move because I would like to have something to leave my kids if I get sick.
This country is not holding up to keeping its citizens safe. I am hurt and saddened.
