So let's check in on the world's finest judicial system 10 months out from the election ...

1. Diaper Don is still out fomenting insurrection and election denialism.
2. Pig Pen three shirts is still advocating for the violent overthrow of the government and grifting.
3. The GA election interference case has devolved into a “who’s sleeping with the DA” sideshow.
5. Judge Loose Canon is all but sucking Donnie’s wilted shroom hoping for her SCOTUS appointment.
6. SCREWUS is dismantling the regulatory state, destroying the right to vote, denying women bodily autonomy and taking bribes.
7. The DC appeals court is writing the consummate opinion on whether the Cheeto Shitgibbon is immune for life, to be delivered after it’s too late to hold douche-alini accountable.

Thank Odin for a fearless 80 year old superwoman who is giving Donnie skidmark fits, holding his necrotic feet to the fire, and costing him a fortune.
E Jean for President. She’s the only one getting work done when it comes to Combover Caligula.

1. Well we are in uncharted territory. We never had a criminal President.

Because he was a shitty President he gets special consideration and rightly so. Justice is slow for the wealthy. Their money buys delay. We never heard someone say the Judge is from another political party so they are against someone. Trump started that but I think it will fade after he is in prison.

Nixon bribed the north vietnamese to not show up to the peace conference

Reagan sent millions to the Iranians to hold on to hostages.

Neither was held accountable, nor was anyone else important for Iran Contra

Big difference. This guy trump doesn't even try to hide his crimes. He thinks he is entitled to commit whatever crime he wants right in the open.

5. Things would be so much easier and satisfying if we had a dictatorship, wouldn't they?

Biden could just put the Bad Orange Man against a wall and shoot him, and everything would be fine, amirite?

…As long as the dictator did stuff that pleased us and didn’t decide to hurt us

The delays and bumps in the road are frustrating, no question. But as I posted in another DU thread today, it's not over till it's over.

For anyone who is considering giving up hope, I have this to say: I know we all feel like we've been waiting forever, and the longer it takes, the harder it is to keep waiting. But it really is NOT over, and it's nowhere near time to give up.

Hang in there, everybody!

9. I haven't given up hope, but I'm still plenty pissed

If our so-called justice system somehow finally gets around to holding Trump accountable for at least one of his crimes before the election, with enough time to help save us from another Trump term in office, it's not as if I'm going to say, "Gosh! I never should have had any doubts!"

This shouldn't be a nail-biter. Well within the scope of a non-dictatorship (as if that's the ONLY other option) we're at least a year behind where we should be now. That's not just my opinion. I've heard plenty of well-educated, knowledgeable people with expertise and connections in the right places say the same thing.

You know what I haven't heard?

Other than defenders of the status quo here on DU, I haven't heard a single pundit or analyst or legal scholar put forth a passionate defense for the speed at which the DoJ and our courts have been moving.

I have yet to here any legal expert or ex-DoJ employee explain why you can't expect Trump to be held accountable any faster than this, lest we all swoosh right down the slippery slope into kangaroo courts, dictatorship, and mob justice -- which is what too many DUers act like the ONLY alternative would be.

8. It's hardly a binary choice between dictatorship and a better justice system

What, pray tell, makes you even want to try toss out absurd false dichotomies like that, as if those are the only two options?

10. You nailed it. I wanted to reply that very sentiment, but didn't want to be thought of as singling out a fellow duer.
