He should have waited until 2028 when Trump will be out of the picture. It would have allowed him to finish out his term as governor and then to have all of 2027 free to start his campaign for President. He was never going to win in a race against Trump. He needs Trump voters to win but he is not going to pull enough of them from Trump himself.

So if/when he runs in 2028 he seems more reasonable? His strategy was to out Trump everyone but that is never going to work. These people forget that Trump was a celebrity for years before he became a politician. He had to do zero work for name recognition. Unless you are a political junky like we are, you wouldn't know who Ron D is. But he acted like everyone did know him. And of course the real him is as dull and boring as they come.
