Some say it began with Ronald Reagan. But, whenever it began, it took off with a vengence under George W. "Rainman" Bush.
I am, of course, speaking of the self-administered full-frontal lobotomy of the GOP.
It was doomed from the start. The only question was whether the nation would survive. The zombie-party tried to stubble on with McCain/Palin, but it kept walking into walls and blaming the walls.
Four years later the GOP tried a guy who had opted for a theological lobotomy instead of an ideological one, but that didn't workout any better, and Obama won a second term.
