Israeli Media: Four More Top Terrorists Eliminated

IDF planes on Monday targeted and eliminated another four senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists. The four were eliminated as part of the IDF's efforts to dismantle the Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza, and to restore calm and quiet to southern Israel, the army said in a statement.

The four were eliminated in a joint operation of the IDF and the Shabak, the General Security Service, the report said.

They were in a multi-storied apartment building, but were killed in a pinpointed "surgical" attack that did not hit any of the international media representatives whose offices are in the builidng.

That the loss of the four was significant to Gaza Arab terrorists was evident from the fact that Hamas denied that the IDF had eliminated the four. In a statement, Hamas said that it could not confirm that the four had been killed by the IDF, and said that they were “out of communication range.”

Among the four was Abu al-Attah, a member of the Hamas senior military council. Al-Attah directed hundreds of rocket attacks against Israel, including long-range attacks. He was also a senior figure in the manufacture of rockets in Gaza. Although a Hamas member, he collaborated with Islamic Jihad on their rocket attacks on Israel. He was also involved in planning several terror attacks against Israel.

Also eliminated was Tisar Mahmoud Mahmad Jabbari, also a member of the council and a senior Hamas member, responsible for organizing numerous terror attacks against Israelis. The other two terrorists - Khalil Bahatini and Ramez Harb - were both senior members of Islamic Jihad who had themselves participated in numerous rocket and terror attacks against Israelis.

No, simply making the point that all these precision strikes, all the "extreme caution and care" we keep hearing about. seems to kill about thirty people for every Hamas asshole it catches. I'm just wondering if that's a better ratio than previous experiments in "blowing up Palestinains to make Israel a better place"

Well below the three or four to one that's normal for conventional warfare, and truly exceptional for asymmetrical war against terrorists who hide behind human shields.

If there were any truth at all to the accusations of Israel targeting civilians the casualties would be much, much higher, similar to what we've been seeing in Syria. But don't let the facts interfere with your recitation of the anti-Israel propaganda line.

Good to know.

Didn't know you could teach a toddler to fire a qassam rocket. Learn something every day, I guess.

I'm sure you've seen the pictures. Then AK-47's at six or seven, RPG's in their early teens. They don't get to play with rockets until later.

But that's a lot easier than teaching a brony to count. Maybe if you know someone who passed fifth grade arithmetic they can explain to you what a one-to-one ratio means.

Let the Hamas keep throwing rockets at them? If we had a hundred rockets come at us, what would we do? I can tell you now as diplomatic as Obama is, he wouldn't put up with it.

Hamas cannot be reasoned with. They need to be destroyed once and for all.

Meanwhile, Israel does what no other country that I know of does. They actually warn people ahead of time that they're coming by dropping flyers. I do think they're trying to prevent civilian casualties.

Would we be bombing every city between Vancouver and St. Johns? Or would we be sending in our highly-trained special forces teams? Maybe we'd go to the legitimate government there in Ottowa and be like "Guys, let's do something about this." Of course, maybe not even that... I mean we do have plenty of lethal gang activity resulting in American losses around the southern border, and our response has been law enforcement operations and not fucking up Mexico with our military.

Hamas cannot be reasoned with? Neither can Israelis, to hear Hamas tell it. Notice how neither side has actually tried? That's self-justifying nonsense, "I refuse to reason with them because they can't be reasoned with!" - it's their fault you're being unreasonable, because of how unreasonable they are... How do people come up with this stuff without their own skulls caving in from the vacuum?

Even if utterly true, maybe Hamas is just a bunch of rabies-infected freaks or whatever. Does bombing Gaza actually help Israel? No, it doesn't. it has brought absolutely zero tangible benefit to Israel. In fact it seems that it actually tends to make things worse. Any idiot can look at this process and see that no, Israel is making no gains this way. Israel is not making itself safer, Israel is achieving very little in taking down Hamas, it puts Israeli lives - soldier and civilian - in a heightened risk of danger, it costs Israel quite a bit of money, it damages Israel's diplomatic positions, and... that's all it does.

This bombing benefits Israel in no way, and for the most part only harms civilians. When it does take out some Hamas asshole, it's hardly crippling to the organization... they operate by cells, and there are no "crucial components" in their personnel precisely for this reason. Israel's not going to win the war against Hamas by dropping bombs on Gaza City. The only possible reason someone would advocate it anyway, is a desire to see dead Palestinians.

Israel has options. It seems to choose only the least effective one. it's very strange. One might almost think that the Israeli government doesn't want to win... Much less its ravening, bloodthirsty, anti-palestinian supporters.

AP is saying that the media building that was struck got a high ranking bubba with no harm to journalists...there may be some merit to the INN report

Israeli media is actually quite broad, though INN is right of center.

Once upon a time, only Israel used the policy of "targeted assassinations".

I remember clearly how it was once debated here in the US. Many felt it was wrong.

But our left-wing president has eliminated virtually all criticism of this type of behavior. Now even what passes for the left basically accepts all the murders and killings of mass numbers of civilians as long as they once-in-a-while declare they get a "number 2 guy".

Now, the tacit approval of all that killing is coming back to stare us in the face and we no longer have the moral authority to criticize it.

Well done, Democrats, well done.
