(111,359 posts)to go. State universities will become campus-remote and the two tier higher education will be set into stone, the 99% doing much of their studies online and going to campuses for conferences, labs, and other hands-on projects.
What will likely fall by the wayside are all the little indie colleges all over the country that operate on a shoestring.

(12,081 posts)that would have allowed both of our state universities to invest state funds in stocks. I can't believe they even want to do that. Did they not pay attention to what happened to state pensions around the country when they invested those in the stock market?

(12,448 posts)The only people fighting to get into the Ivies today are legacies without the chops to make the cut and the sheeple that still believe they are somehow worth the $100K+ p/yr price tag because they'll "meet the right people".
Why do you think the President of Vassar is doing interviews with the world's first newspaper to use color photos and limit its writing to an eighth grade level of comprehension?
