Tentative agrrement reached for release of 50 hostages.

Pending approval by Israel.

There wouldn't be any release of hostages if not for the IDF operation in Gaza. The Hamas barbarians have been decimated and are desperate for reprieve. President Biden was right in rejecting talk of a cease fire.

Sometimes it isn't pretty, sometimes it gives the impression of weakness, but for it to work, the person orchestrating the diplomatic effort must walk the line between both sides.
It still isn't done, but it looks like it's going to happen. It's a start.
Be patient with President Biden, and let him do what he can to help end this horrible mess.

The us caving to the left pressuring biden to call a cease fire "at any cost". It will be spun as a victory for hamas and a weak failure for the west.

Wait for it.

Lots of sniffing and tut tutting about his it's too meager and all wrong and not good enough from people who've never managed a staff of three, much less been president.

And then, yes, the right will add their squawking to the cacophony of low-information high-emotion complaining and Trump will be elected and a whole lot of people will wail and cry and hold their heads in despair.

Sometimes I really despise other people.

That was the point: take a lot of Israeli hostages, exchange them for palestinians held by Israel.

This isn’t difficult. I don’t understand the confusion. Israel is holding thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Hamas has routinely exchanged their prisoners for Israel’s.

Hamas Oct 28: “Al-Ansari indicated that successive hostage releases might require Israel to release prisoners of its own.

“We are talking around the idea of more hostages coming out, we’re talking about the idea of a prisoner exchange,” al-Ansari said.”

Again I don’t understand your confusion. Why are you opposed to accepting that a major reason for taking Israeli prisoners is to exchange them for Palestinian prisoners?

Some of them were grievously wounded when Hamas took them hostage. A family in my area has a son missing. They know his arm was blown off, based on eyewitness accounts of those who saw him being taken away. They have been waiting for word.

I can't imagine the hell they're living through.
