It launched successfully and reached 39km altitude...
If the new and improved launch pad stays intact, more rocket motors should fire also... I believe a few were disabled by debris in the launch.
Just ignore the Musk connection... SpaceX is awesome. NASA thinks so.

SpaceX has been amazingly successful, especially when compared to the ULA, Blue Origin and Boeing efforts.
