Poll: Election Season Withdrawal

So, the election is over.

There are no more debates to watch, no more polls to obsess over, no more electoral vote prediction maps to check on ten times a day, no more hearing Maddow say “too close to call”.

My Twitter feed has gone from too fast read to so slow that at times I think that maybe it is not working properly.

I think ‘election season withdrawal’ has finally set in tonight, I’m feeling it, and I’m not liking it one bit.

How are ya'll doing?

I know I really don't ... but I do miss the routine of checking each poll and waiting in anticipation for the day to arrive. I don't miss the worries, tho.

and the story just may even be more interesting too. We've got a few congresspersons to replace! some Supreme Court Justouttolunchs to replace. The excitement is on it's way sooner than you think!

... The struggle against rightwing nutters goes on.

I will admit, however, to a huge sense of relief.

And yes, we can bask in the glow of our wonderful victory.

More than ever, I am enjoying this victory even better than 2008, because this victory in 2012 means what we won in 2008 will not be taken away from us, and never will.

Forward is such an apt name. And we continue to do so.

However, I am not in a rush to get through these four years, I want them to last and last and last.
Life is short, we should not race through it, but savor and enjoy it.

And keep working for more betterments. They are right around the corner corny as that sounds I hear the Disney Carousel of Progress theme "there's a great big beautiful tomorrow"
in my head.

race. And there was a certain fast paced excitement and constant drama of who said what and how that comment or action would impact the race. In some ways, it's like a long drawn out sporting event.

You know what I'm enjoying more though?

Victory. And Schadenfreude over post-mortem stories of the failed Romney campaign. I'm also having a blast reading about the distancing of the GOP from Romney's bitter remarks since losing.

At some point in the next few months (maybe next year), I think we'll see a justice look to retire (my first guess is Ginsburg) and we'll see all sorts of speculation on the replacement. Then I think most of us will be feeling a sense of relief (as opposed to fear) in not having the replacement be a right wing ideologue as it otherwise would have been.

Most of the threads here are acting like it's the end of the world.

It's rare to find any positive threads post-election.
