If the Democratic Party were to take a strong stand...

...in favor of re-legalizing use of the hemp plant as a key component towards a green economy plus ending the war on marijuana I truly believe that the party would gain immeasurably, politically speaking.

I don't understand why the Chemical companies, paper companies, textile companies, oil companies etc aren't pushing for hemp. People will still by wood paper and oil based products but if these companies embraced hemp imagine the profits. I mean You can regrow hemp every year as opposed to waiting for a tree to mature. Stupid to keep such a useful easily produced product illegal.

It would be a wonder working power in the national economic recovery. Plus people with a trace on their drug test should not be excludeed from working jobs where it really doesn't matter.
