I'm fortunate. I can afford to pay a little extra for my meal in order to help businesses comply
with ACA. If it's an extra $.14 for a pizza*, or another $.50, or a buck or whatever, I can handle that and I'll gladly pay it. No problem. But don't have the fucking gall to 'suggest' that I lower my tip to the server because you have to comply with the law. Of all the sleazy, low-down, bullshit things to do to your employees - it boggles my mind that someone would show their ass so brazenly. Disgusting. I would not in a million years eat at an establishment that was stupid enough to do that, and I sincerely hope that those poor people who work for this jackass can find another job as soon as possible.
I'm talking about that Denny's owner who suggested that patrons stiff the waitstaff because he had to pass on the costs of complying with ACA. I'm fucking furious about this. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/13/john-metz-hurricane-grill-wings-dennys_n_2122412.html
* I don't eat at Papa John's, this is just a reference point.
