Why are the media dragging out all the RW losers to bash the President on Benghazi?

John McCain really? The left had plenty to say about Bush's failings over 9-11 but they got zero air time. I am so mad right now over all that the right is allowed to spew on national tv while the left's legitimate points are always scoffed at and ignored. I hate the stupidness of this country. I'd like to believe that MSM are becoming obsolete but too many people watch and believe. They generate so much hate it makes me hateful and I don't want to be that way. UGGGGGGGGGGG!

This would be a ratings extravaganza.
There is also the "Look! There's a kitten" effect - perhaps the GOP is trying to justify squandering all that money on a failed campaign/candidate - or deflect attention away from that.
See? They are still running against Obama and still hope to defeat him!
They are trying mightily to pretend we never even had an election, in a way.

While the Petraeus fiasco simmers and continues to build, the corporate media doesn't have much else to chase after. Call it post-election blahs and Gramps is trying to take advantage of it so he can try to pretend he's still relevant. The asshat is a sore loser, just like willard, who wants to try to undermine this President and administration. The problem is Gramps still has lots of friends in the beltway media so when he throws his tantrum it gets coverage.

In fairness, much of the coverage I'm seeing is not taking McCain's side but questioning why he's making such a big stink. I'm all for an investigation of the CIA...not Rice...as that appears where the intel lapse took place. Now does Gramps really want another investigation into what Petraeus was doing or not while under the cloud of an FBI investigation? Does he want us to dig into if there was a plan to provide bogus intel to Rice from inside Petraeus office? Hell, if the other side can throw around tin foil and speculate, why can't we?

Also, there was plenty of airtime over dubya's failures on 9/11 and Iraq...it led to big Democratic wins in the House and Senate in '06, but your point is well taken...it took five years of lies and deception for them to start waking up.

The same media that never questioned the 9/11 attacks? Then they start investigating Benghazi and uncover a military up to their ears in sex scandals.....most of those generals left over from GWB administration.

They aren't dragging out losers -- they ARE losers. Losing their audience, losing their revenue (except Fox, see below) and losing any relevant take on the future.

According to the Pew Research Center’s Project For Excellence in Journalism’s The State of the News Media 2012 report, viewership for all cable news was up 1% in daytime and 1% in primetime. CNN saw their ratings rise by 16%. Despite the loss of Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s prime time audience grew by 3%. The network’s daytime audience was up 20%. The ratings surge at CNN was a temporary blip caused by the tsunami in Japan and the Arab Spring. Without breaking news, CNN sinks to third place.

Fox News continues to lose viewers, but remains highly profitable. How can a network lose viewers, but increase profits? The answer is that Fox News demands the highest licensing fee from carriers in all of cable news. All subscribers pay an additional seventy eight cents a month to have Fox News carried on their system. This was an 11% increase in 2011 and one of the main reasons why Fox News can lose viewers, but set a record for profits.

Even if you never watch Fox News, as long as it is carried by your cable or satellite system, you are still adding to Rupert Murdoch’s fortune. If people really want to stop Fox News, they need to be pushing Congress to pass a la cart legislation that will allow viewers to pick and choose the networks that they want to pay for instead of being forced to subsidize channels that they can’t stand.
