We won and they lost. So why am I still so nervous?

Let's review. In the last week, this November's losing party has given us:

* Conspiracy theories ranging from voter fraud to mind control

* The hijacking of an international tragedy as an excuse to cry treason

* Insults openly hurled at minorities, women, and youth (in other words, the historically powerless)

* Greedy partisan businessmen taking their election fury out on their employees

* A sore-losing candidate now actively promoting a toxic "Us vs. Them" worldview in his depressed followers

* And finally, much-publicized calls for secession from the Union

Over the last week, my attitude towards the implosion within the GOP has changed from gleeful to fearful. It is not healthy for a political party to be this over-the-top angry and vengeful--not for them, and not for the country as a whole. I know, I know--only a handful are legitimately insane. But as I see it, one insane person can do an awful lot of damage before the forces of sanity are able to stop him. Meanwhile, the rage on the right continues, worse than ever--and their representatives in politics and the media are doing nothing to stop it. If anything, they're throwing gasoline on the flames.

That's why I'm nervous. When our side lost in 2004, many talked of fleeing the country and were roundly criticized for doing so. In 2012, the losers seem to want to take the sanity of the entire country with them in defeat.

1. IMO you have expressed a very realistic view of the partisan political situation in the U.S.

There seems to be something basically wrong with the Republican's brains. They seem
politically suicidal and are willing to wreck the Country over their cooked up notions about how things should be done.

3. Interesting points, but here on CNN, "we'll have to leave it at that for now"

And as long as the media continues to let them get away with it unchecked, they will continue to do so. "Barack Obama has been re-elected president of the United States, but some Republicans disagree. We'll look at the controversy next, here on The Situation Room."

most of these nuts would be put in attics by their relatives but CNN and all the rest give them an audience instead.

I really think that is a huge problem, the Reality Show crap has hit the newsrooms.

They are pissed they lost the election and they want blood. They seem to think that Benghazi will bring the President down. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to impeach him or some silly nonsense.

among them are a little scary. Especially the ones who are safely tucked away in gerrymandered red districts. Their constituents want them to bring on the crazy. Gracious losers they are not!

I'm glad they are so that we can gain monumental control in the house/senate in 2014 and beyond. But one does really have to scratch their head at how utterly and blatantly asinine they are acting. What do they possibly think they will gain by this insidious behavior? I would assume they will eventually start self destructing. I see straight jackets in the near future for several GOP nut jobs!
