Is Ken Starr available? Are McCain and Graham trying to 'Lewinskyize' Paula Broadwell

to embarrass President Obama, Susan Rice, and Hillary Clinton as well as General Petraeus?

John McCain, Lindsay Graham, and Kelly Ayotte held a press conference late this morning to demand an independent counsel and select committee of Congress to investigate 'Benghazigate'.

To these Republican Senators, 'Benghazigate' apparently is far worse that Watergate, and sexual innuendo about Petraeus, Broadwell, Allen, and Jill Kelly is available to spice up their conspiracy-mongering.

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

'Senate Republicans push for 'select; committee to lead unified investigation into attack. “In Watergate, nobody died.”

... "There is no credibility amongst most of us concerning the administration and the numerous controversies and contradictions that have been involved in their handling of this issue," McCain said at a Capitol Hill press conference. "It is essential for the Congress to conduct its own independent assessment." McCain, flanked by Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Kelly Ayyotte, announced that the trio will introduce legislation this afternoon to create a temporary select committee in the Senate to independently investigate the attack that killed four Americans. “In Watergate, nobody died. In Iran-Contra, nobody died,” McCain said, pointing to select committees after both as precent for one on Benghazi.

The Obama Administration has argued that the tragedy was the outcome of specific and largely local failures, and that contradictory early explanations reflected confusion, not a cover-up.

Graham said the select committee is necessary to prevent "stove-piping" of the congressional investigation, and to allow all those investigating the attack to hear testimony that otherwise would be spread across the Armed Services, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations committees. “If you have these people in separate rooms telling separate stories trying to blame each other, it’s going to fall through the cracks," Graham said.'

I've met plenty of folks from Central America who were force to illegally emigrate out of fear for their lives over the violence we spawned in their countries. In too many cases, it rose to the level of genocide.

It wasn't just the guns and grenades, either. There were plenty of U.S. "advisors" on the ground, too.

that really has nothing to do with the President. They will surely fail, and it will hurt their own party far more than it does the President. They learn nothing from history.

remembers Monica Lewinsky, but how many people remember the "Whitewater" money-losing land deal that was the pretext for Ken Starr's expensive, drawn-out "investigation"?

they must form their OWN committee to get the results they are obviously looking for. Hearings on top of investigations, but Lindsey Graham worries, "it's going to fall through the cracks"--WHAT is going to fall through the cracks? A gotcha opportunity against Obama's administration.

So when an illicit sexual affair popped into the picture, they decided to turn their October Surprise into a November Surprise, and it has way better "legs" now.
